Consultation process on Septic Tank Regulations drawing to a close- McGrath

A consultation process that is currently underway in relation to the proposed Septic Tank and Waste Water Treatment System regulations is drawing to a close and South Tipperary Independent TD Mattie McGrath is encouraging all those with concerns about the regulations to make a submission to the Department of the Environment before this Friday 30th March at 4pm.

“While this is a blatant case of putting the cart before the horse, I would encourage as many as possible to make submissions in relation to the standards that will apply to the regime of Septic Tank and Waste Water Treatment System inspections”
“The Minister has finally published his draft regulations, which yet again, give very little detailed information in relation to the standards that will actually apply during the inspection process, so it is important, that the Department receive submissions in this regard before the closing date.” Said Deputy McGrath
The Closing date for receipt of submissions is 4pm on Friday, 30 March, 2012 and submissions can be made in writing to the “Domestic Waste Water Systems- Consultations, Water Services Policy Section, Department of the Environment, Community and Local Government, Newtown Road, Wexford” or by email to watersp@environ.ie
