Adjournment Debates
Planning and Development Regulations
12/10/2011 10:23:22

I seek the adjournment of the Dáil under Standing Order 32 to raise a matter of national importance, namely, the extremely serious changes being introduced by the Minister for the Environment, Community and Local Government, Deputy Hogan, such as the motion on the planning and development regulations which with a stroke of a pen will require planning permission to be obtained for every parcel of land of more than 30 m by 30 m perceived to be wetland and an environmental impact statement to be obtained on any parcel of such land of more than 2 ha before such lands can be used by rural families for productive use. The only ones who will benefit from this motion will be engineers and agents. Surely we cannot allow this EU directive to be passed.

Bansha Post Office
12/10/2011 10:20:51

I wish to seek an adjournment of the Dáil under standing order 32 to raise an importance matter, namely, An Post's plans to close rural post offices, particularly Bansha Post Office, County Tipperary, to the detriment of the entire community and their complete lack of co-operation with the community and public representatives.

Adjournment Debate re NAMA
27/05/2011 09:57:21

I seek the Adjournment of the Dáil under Standing Order 32 to raise a matter of national importance, namely, the negative impact of NAMA on the daily working of viable businesses seeking to trade out of their financial difficulties. Most officials in NAMA have no understanding of business and it is unfair to those business people trying to survive in this difficult climate.
